“Great Quality At Low Price!”
Customer Reviews Mahalo U-35GN Sparkling Soprano Ukulele Outfit in Green
Item was out with stock when I purchased, but arrived earlier as compared with expected. Excellent quality for that price. The glitter finish is so adorable as well as sound is actually pretty decent. I’m very happy with this purchase Mahalo U-35GN!!
Don’t misunderstand me, this is not some sort of $200 dollar uke. Except for fair price you obtain a uke that feels sturdy, tunes well, and by nice strings sounds great. The construction is better than expected, the glitter is hokey, but the solid wood finishing and general sense is good – doesn’t sense that it was made out of cardboard or something. The frets are metal, along with the tuning pegs and equipment are pretty good.
I got myself this because I’ve enjoyed guitar for years (therefore i do know a thing or two about excellent and sound), and immediately after watching a show using Kate Micucci playing uke and thinking it had been awesome, I wanted to learn to play. So I purchased this as a starter uke, and it’s terrific. So if you really want something that is planning to sound legit, but never cost a lot, Mahalo U-35GN is a great setup!
After considering getting a uke for a couple months, I impulse acquired this one to brighten up an otherwise cruddy day. Verdict? It is your SHOCKINGLY nice little instrument, ESPECIALLY given the price tag. Musically, it has an excellent warm and surprisingly resonating sound. It really carries a lovely, clear tone without the tinny-ness that’s present with cheaper instruments. Others have got complained that it will likely not stay tuned, but soon after fiddling with it for your first 24 hours a strings stabilized fairly effectively. Out of the package it IS truly horrendous at holding a adjusting, but it’s mostly an item of the strings stretching rather than the uke itself (a common issue with new strings- I play violin and it may take up to a few days for those to negotiate and hold tune perfectly.) A little noodling plus some patience, though, and the idea stays in tune properly. Visually, the sparkly inexperienced? Awesome. It is some sort of bright, shiny apple green with a bit regarding glitter (another reviewer stated “craft glitter” which: specifically.) Is it traditional? Simply no. Is it cute as being a bug? Oh yes.
Most people bought this Mahalo U-35GN for the 6yo son to learn on — he loves lime green! (The strings on each of our higher quality uke are so hard for his palms.) It’s a nice tiny instrument for the dollars.
You definitely need to spend the first week or possibly even longer tuning it daily because it takes awhile for the particular strings to stretch outside. You really need an electric tuner to do this particular! (I have a free ap that works great on my phone, you don’t go out and pay back more than you spent on this instument for any tuner!) After about each week of daily tuning it absolutely was only going about 1/4 step level and now after 30 days it’s only about the 1/8 step chiseled and holding pretty effectively during practice. Our lecturer says the bridge is often a tad too high, however it still works fine for a beginner.
