I decided about last month that I wanted to understand to play the ukulele and started scouring the net for a good option. This was one in the first ones I checked and I loved the blue. I was frustrated with the lack of reviews therefore i figured I’d write one! I also liked that it was a beginner package and came exceeding just the uke per se. The item shipped swiftly and arrived in decent condition – there were several blemishes in the paint (but for a affordable mass produced uke, I was expecting that). The “starter offer” is not as beneficial as it first seems. According to what I read, you shouldn’t use guitar picks on ukulele strings – though the guitar strings it comes with are extremely hard nylon, so it’s not going to cause too much destruction (but do yourself a favor and get some Aquila strings – your fingertips and your ears will probably thank you). The tie doesn’t seem to have place to attach the item to the instrument, along with my tuner was semi-broken. The tote is wonderful, though.
Everyone loves the sound. My electric tuner says it plays notes slightly sharp, however I can’t tell when I get good enough to use it along with kids at storytimes (librarian) they will not be able to explain to either. Overall, I appreciate this instrument (I given its name her Stella Blue) along with would recommend it with regard to just starting out. (Also for anyone only starting, this website: ukulelehunt.com is seriously helpful)
